Pretty Different…. Pretty Disturbia. We stand for Sustainability, Passion, Inclusivity and Individuality. Hand made. Hand dyed. Hand sewn. Made in Manchester and proud… by alternative fashion designer – Leesa Bertram
Little did I know when I randomly rocked up to a clothes swap that I would end up becoming a part of Pretty Disturbia family!
I had seen the same clothes swap event advertised on Facebook before and for some reason, it kept on popping up on my suggested events. Having fairly recently become a mummy I had a lot of time in my hands but at the same time, I sometimes needed an extra incentive to get out of the house.
So one-day curiosity got the better of me and I decided to attend this mysterious clothes swap. I picked a couple of things from my wardrobe that I was no longer wearing and headed to town.
There was a girl waiting outside the door who let me into the building. After climbing the stairs, a lot of them, I got welcomed by a room full of friendly faces. And before I knew it, I found out that the organiser was an alternative fashion brand called Pretty Disturbia, which was a completely new concept for me at the time.
I really enjoyed the event and I kept on going back for more: craft evenings, clothes swaps and even parties! PD dolly Leesa also asked me and my baby daughter to model in a photoshoot.
Looking back from the start..!
It’s been roughly a year now since that first clothes swap and I have got completely sucked into the world of Pretty Disturbia. After watching Leesa and the other PD dollies successfully run the business I have asked if I can join in and help out as much as I can. Remotely, obviously, considering the current circumstances. So far I am absolutely loving it and I can’t wait to see what the future brings! Watch this space.
