Happy Pride Month, you lovely people!

It’s only right that this week we’re showing our love for the LGBTQ+ community with Pride being the theme for our socials!

Showing support for the LGBTQ+ community is very important to us here at Pretty Disturbia, and I myself have always been very open about my own sexuality and gender identity. Being part of an alternative fashion brand like Pretty Disturbia has given me a platform to link my love of fashion with my immense pride in myself and my community.

This year, I became interested in fundraising for Terrence Higgins Trust, a charity whose main mission statement is finding a cure for HIV and AIDS. I have even made it my mission to complete a fundraising walk, alongside my mother, in order to raise money for them.

We are walking in memory of Freddie Mercury, who lived with and sadly succumbed to the disease in 1991. Our walk will finish in Sackville Gardens, where Alan Turing’s statue is seated. It would mean so much to us both to reach our target of £150, so please donate here if you can (or scan the QR code above!)

Pride week, and indeed Pride month, should be all about celebrating the vast uniqueness in the LGBTQ+ community, while also raising awareness of serious social issues that affect us.

Have you ever raised money for a charitable cause? And how do you like to celebrate Pride? Let us know via Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, and keep an eye out for our Questions Of The Day appearing on our socials all week! Stay safe, and stay beautiful.

Kisses, PD Dolly Hana xxx
