Good afternoon, wonderful people!
This week’s blog is a little different from usual, as we have a guest-authored post by Manchester band Kaleiders! As this week’s theme across socials is summer, what better way to enjoy it than to give the stage to local talent?
Kaleiders are “a punk-inspired alternative rock trio from Warrington”, bringing their unique sound to stages across the North West. How would you describe your musical style?
I think we don’t really confine ourselves to a single sound; we have such a wide range of inspirations that we like to derive from and I think that shows in our music. But more importantly, I think we are a band who doesn’t take themselves too seriously, despite what some of our music might suggest. We are in it for us and those who choose to follow and support us. At this stage, that’s a mantra that we’d like to stick to.
Awesome point! Kaleiders are a band that wears their individuality like a badge of pride. Which of your songs are you most proud of?
From our own music – it varies. I think “Subway Station” will always be a special song for us, as that was the track that really put us back on the scene after an extended hiatus. However, I’m finding “Cracks On The Floor” one of the most fun tracks to rehearse and soon perform in front of a crowd!
Recently, we sent the band a bunch of tees that you seemed to absolutely love! Do you have a set style that you all prefer, or is your fashion sense pretty varied?
Now, I’m fully aware that none of us really have the best taste in clothing! We each have different styles ranging from Alex’s skater look to my fondness for denim jackets. Needless to say, we’re looking into developing our own fashion sense, mainly due to lockdown making us become a bit lazier.
What’s next on the cards for Kaleiders?
Following the release of our latest EP “Motorway Saints”, which we recorded over lockdown, we are having our music video features on Sky TV as well as playing a number of headline shows across the North West. We’re actually just excited to be an actual band again more than anything else.
Lockdown has definitely been tough on us all, especially people like yourselves who rely on live performing to grow. Despite this, what do you consider to be your biggest achievement?
The album is arguably our biggest achievement. We produced it by ourselves, partly in lockdown. I think it’s something which we will always be able to look back on and be proud of what we managed to do in a very difficult time. It’s not perfect by any means, but it’s special to us and will always mark where we started as a band.
Kaleiders are set to play a headlining show at Night People on 24th July, so if you love homegrown talent and alternative music then go ahead and send them some love. In the meantime, you can find out more about the band and their music on their Facebook, Instagram and Twitter profiles.
Thanks again to Kaleiders for representing our brand and giving us this little interview! Let us know what you think of the band via Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter, and keep an eye out for our Questions Of The Day appearing on our socials all week! Stay safe, and stay beautiful.
